FAQ

What is a Giclee ?
Giclee is french term meaning "to spray". a Giclee is a reproduction or a print ( whether it is a "Paper Giclee" or a "Canvas Giclee" ) that was digitally printed with a computerized printer. The giclee process is of very high quality and exceeds other traditional methods of printmaking.

The image is not computer generated - the image of the print is painted by hand by an artist and that original painting is then scanned at a very high resolution ( very high detail ) and transferred to the computer where the image is processed to then send that information to the printer where the printer then begins to print the image onto the particular material whether it be canvas or paper. The inks used in authentic Giclee printing are UV inhibiting inks ( resist fading caused by the sun or interior lighting ) and the papers and canvases are acid free to prevent yellowing of the image in the future.
